Duties Assist with food production and meal preparation in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards Serve meals to clients with professionalism and kindness, ensuring their dietary needs are met Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through proper sanitation, cleaning, and bussing procedures Handle food safely by following proper food handling protocols to prevent contamination or spoilage Support the dietary department by organizing supplies, stocking food items, and managing meal carts or trays Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals and accommodate special dietary requests Uphold high standards of customer service by engaging positively with residents or patients during mealtimes Skills Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or food industry settings is highly desirable Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques Excellent time management skills to efficiently prepare and serve meals within scheduled times Ability to perform food preparation tasks including cooking, portioning, and plating meals Familiarity with dietary requirements and dietetics principles to support nutritional needs Effective communication skills for working collaboratively with team members and interacting courteously with residents or patients Demonstrated ability to maintain cleanliness standards through cleaning, bussing, and sanitation procedures This role is paid and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve.
