Job Description
There are full-time dietary aide positions available at The Rose of Dubuque, which is an licensed Assisted Living Facility. The employee will be trained to perform the dietary aide position. The available hours/shifts are as follows:
Full-Time Dietary Aide:
Monday-Friday with weekend availability The position would be ideal for a person who has an interest in working with the elderly and utilizing culinary skills. We will train a suitable applicant with an aptitude for the position. We offer good wages for work in a well-appointed kitchen. Students often apply. We also employ persons who are looking to add part-time hours to their daily routine or full-time employees who want to add additional hours to their work week. The kitchen is well appointed and the position is supported by a corporate Culinary Director and the Property Administrator. Dietary Aide Compensation:
Competitive package of salary and benefits. Available full-time benefits include health, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and holiday, sick and vacation.- This position is responsible for serving food in a congregate dining area
- This position is responsible for following proper customer service practices
- This position is responsible for clearing and cleaning after meal service
- This position is responsible for assisting the cook with duties as assigned
- This position reports to the cook and building administrator.
Dietary Aide Primary Duties:
- Setting tables prior to meal service
- Serving meal plate service and beverages
- Utilizing proper courtesy and customer service practices with respect to elderly clientele
- Clearing and cleaning after meal service
- Washing table clothes as needed
- Vacuuming and cleaning the dining area proper
- Washing and returning dishes and silverware to storage
- Assisting the cook with other duties as assigned
Dietary Aide Education/Training/Experience:
- Good work ethic
- Basic understanding of kitchen and meal service protocols
Dietary Aide Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to follow meal service instructions and communicate effectively with supervisor, co-employees and residents
- Ability to effectively relate to and communicate with elderly clientele
