Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Nutrition Services worker prepares patient/resident trays; serves patients and residents; washes dishes, including pots and pans; cleans assigned work areas; and puts away stock. In addition they may operate the cash register, following proper cash procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assembles patient/residents trays according to appropriate diet. Serves patients and residents. Performs dishwashing duties, wash pots and pans and clean work areas including floor care. Puts away stock following safety guidelines. Set-up/serve special functions. May operates cash register, following proper cash procedures. Maintains accurate, balanced change bank when working cafeteria. Understands and demonstrates the proper use and care and maintenance all dietary equipment and supplies, continually learning new technology. Observes proper sanitary techniques. Completes accurate and timely daily charting requirements as assigned. Assists in training new staff. Demonstrates and actively promotes an understanding and commitment to the mission of MCH. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local laws and regulations. High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Must be able to read and understand labels, production orders, and storeroom set-up. Must have the ability to learn special diets. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring.
