This energetic position combines culinary skills with compassionate service, ensuring that each resident's dietary needs are met with care and professionalism. You'll be responsible for preparing and serving meals, adhering to safety standards, and supporting the overall well-being of our residents in a vibrant, supportive environment. Duties Prepare and assemble meals in accordance with dietary requirements, safety guidelines, and nutritional standards. Serve food to residents with friendly, attentive customer service, ensuring a positive dining experience. Assist with food handling, sanitation, cleaning, and bussing to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, refrigerators, and dishwashers. Follow proper manual handling and safe lifting practices when moving heavy items or supplies. Adhere strictly to food safety protocols such as JCAHO standards, sanitation procedures, and PPE use to prevent contamination. Support the dietary department by managing time effectively to ensure timely meal delivery and preparation. Requirements Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Knowledge of food production, meal preparation, and food safety regulations. Experience working with geriatric patients or in dietary departments is an asset. Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform manual handling tasks comfortably. Strong time management skills to coordinate meal schedules efficiently. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and adhering to dietary requirements for special diets. Basic math skills for portion control and inventory management; excellent customer service skills are essential. Certifications such as CPR or food handling licenses are advantageous; commitment to workplace safety is required.
