Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support the dietary department by preparing and serving nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary needs, ensuring a safe and welcoming dining experience. Your energy and attention to detail will help promote health, well-being, and satisfaction among our residents, especially those in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital settings. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of geriatric patients while working in a dynamic and supportive environment. Responsibilities Assist with food preparation and meal service, adhering strictly to dietary requirements and safety standards Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during food production and meal assembly Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, dining spaces, and food handling equipment in compliance with food safety regulations such as JCAHO standards Serve meals to residents with courtesy, ensuring proper portioning and presentation Support food handling, bussing, cleaning, and sanitation duties to uphold hygiene standards Follow safe lifting practices during manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting or moving supplies Adhere to workplace safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times Assist with inventory management of food supplies and ensure proper storage of perishable items Work collaboratively with nursing staff and dietary team to meet residents' nutritional needs and special diets Support the dietary department in maintaining documentation related to food safety, sanitation, and meal service Experience Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or similar healthcare environments is highly preferred Background in food production, food service industry, or culinary experience is advantageous Familiarity with dietary requirements for geriatric patients or those with special nutritional needs is beneficial Knowledge of safe lifting practices, manual handling techniques, and workplace safety procedures is essential Experience operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, dishwashers, and serving utensils is desirable Strong time management skills to efficiently handle meal preparation schedules and service times Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude toward residents' comfort and dignity Basic math skills for portion control and inventory management Certification in CPR and proper use of PPE are preferred but can be provided upon hire Join us as a Dietary Aide where your dedication helps create a warm environment that promotes health through nutritious meals.
