Responsibilities Assist with food production and meal preparation to ensure timely delivery of nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs. Serve meals to residents with professionalism and courtesy, adhering to proper food handling and sanitation protocols. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through regular sanitation, cleaning, and bussing duties. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while following all workplace safety guidelines. Support dietary department tasks such as inventory management, food handling, and adhering to dietary requirements for residents. Assist with manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and safe lifting practices to support meal distribution. Ensure compliance with food safety standards, JCAHO regulations, and sanitation procedures at all times. Qualifications Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Knowledge of food production, meal preparation, and food safety practices. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and working within dietary or culinary environments. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Ability to work effectively with geriatric patients and adhere to dietary requirements. Basic math skills for portion control and inventory management. Commitment to workplace safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques.
