Salary Range:
$18.00 To $25.58 Hourly Harbor Health Services operates two Elder Service Plan Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, a program that allows frail elders to live in their homes and communities. Our Elder Service Plan has two medical and day centers in Mattapan and Brockton, MA and cares for more than 580 participants. We are currently seeking a Dietary Aide to join our team at the Elder Service Plan in Brockton. Role:
The Dietary Aide is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of kitchen maintenance, such as sanitation, OSHA regulations, and management of all storage including foods as well as meal services for the ESP program are in compliance with ESP protocol as well as state and federal regulations. Position is 30 hours weekly, hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the Elder Service Plan in Brockton.
Responsibilities:
Stores perishable cold food in the refrigerator or freezer and ensures hot food is placed in warmers until served. Ensures refrigerator temperature is maintained and documented daily in the log. Prepares and serves food to participants according to the ESP Serving and Portion Guide including testing of meal temperatures and reviewing food expiration dates. Stores and maintains all foods at proper temperatures and per Health Code standards. Maintains all kitchen equipment (freezer, refrigerator, warmer, toaster & microwave) in clean condition and working order and reports any unsanitary conditions to manager. Prepares beverages, labels and places in sanitized bottles. Uses, maintains and cleans equipment and utensils according to policy and procedure. Maintains all supplies in accordance with protocol. Ensures all sanitation protocols are implemented and maintained.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED One year of experience with a geriatric population required One year of food service experience preferred Proven oral and written English communication skills Ability to accurately complete daily dietary log Current ServSafe Food Handler Certification Current Serv Safe-Allergen or MA-Allergen Certification or obtained withing 3 months of hire All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status. As such, most offers will not be at the top of the salary range. Monday - Friday 8:00 AM-2:30 PM, can flexible on start time 30 hours weekly
