Dietary Aide in
Topsfield, MA Job Summary:
As a Dietary Aide at Masconomet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our residents by ensuring their daily nutritional needs are met in a safe and sanitary manner. You will work closely with our dietician and Food Service Manager to ensure that production sheets and menus are consistent, and assist with meal preparation, production, and service.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine duties to meet the daily nutritional needs of our residents Assist with meal preparation, production, and service Work closely with dietician and Food Service Manager to ensure production sheets and menus are consistent Prepare, portion, and serve appropriate and adequate amounts of food items, beverages, and desserts for meal service Assist with preparation and production of vending par levels Prepare and deliver nourishments at appropriate times according to procedure Set up trays and/or place settings according to prescribed therapeutic diets Assist with meal set up at mealtime Properly store all food items and supplies according to procedure
Requirements:
Strong interest in the dietary needs of the aged and chronically ill Ability to read, write, and comprehend English; ability to follow oral and written instructions Fluent knowledge of MSOffice Suite and other office equipment Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position assignment Works in a well-lighted and ventilated work area subject to temperature changes
Physical Requirements:
Stands approximately 95% of the workday, including bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, and twisting 60% of the day Carries up to 50 lbs. daily and pushes and pulls carts carrying equipment and supplies 25% of the workday Performs repetitive movements throughout the workday Works with potentially hazardous equipment that must be handled properly
Technical Competencies:
Safely operates all job-related food service equipment Follows systems as indicated Utilizes knowledge of proper food handling and infection control and observes proper sanitary techniques Understands and adheres to all safety, sanitation, fire and disaster and personnel policies and procedures of the facility
