Do you want to join a dedicated team in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Dietary Aides and Cooks at Intersect Healthcare of Cedar Springs, a 77-bed nursing and rehabilitation facility in Cedar Springs, Michigan. About the Role As a Dietary Aide and Cook, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional food service to our residents, guests, and employees. Your responsibilities will include preparing and serving salads and desserts, setting up trays, and maintaining good personal hygiene and a clean work environment. You will also assist in the cleaning and organization of the kitchen, and perform other duties and functions as required.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve salads and desserts using standardized recipes Set up trays quickly and accurately in a neat and attractive arrangement according to posted menu at food stations on central tray line Place foods, condiments, serving containers, dishes, silverware, etc., appropriate to meal and resident preferences on trays Assist in the cleaning and organization of the kitchen Maintain good personal hygiene and adhere to uniform requirements Clean work areas and equipment such as counter tops, steam table, coffee urn, and refrigerators Know and report potential sanitation safety hazards in the kitchen, dining room or other areas to the Director of Food and Nutrition Services Perform other duties and functions as required
Requirements:
Education:
Associate's degree or equivalent
Experience:
1 year of experience as a waitress or food service worker (desirable)
Skills:
Able to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions including some calculations; basic knowledge of attractive food service, sanitation, and safety
Other:
Manual dexterity required to operate modern office equipment
Working Environment:
