Job Description
Maple Lawn is looking for a Assistant dietary manager to assist the dietary manager. A Certified Food Protection Professional or ServSafe certification is required but Maple Lawn will provide and pay for training for the right individual. Every other weekend is required We are looking for a person who enjoys serving their community and has a passion for food. The right individual is able to take initiative to make a difference as we transition to person centered care. We are looking for a candidate whom is available anytime between 7A- 7P daily and can work every other weekend. This is a 40 hour per week position with occasional overtime.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED (minimum) ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety certification Experience in institutional food service (long-term care preferred)Preferred:
Knowledge of therapeutic diets and texture-modified diets Familiarity with CMS survey process and long-term care regulations Primary Responsibilities 1. Assistant Dietary Manager Assist Dietary Manager with daily prep schedules and inventory Develop and maintain meal schedules and production systems Ensure adequate staffing, scheduling, and labor management 2. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with CMS dietary regulations and Missouri state standards Maintain documentation for sanitation, food safety, and dietary services Participate in surveys and respond to dietary-related deficiencies 3. Menu Planning & Nutrition Services Develop and approve menus in consultation with dietitian (if applicable) Ensure menus meet residents' nutritional needs and physician-ordered diets Monitor therapeutic diets, texture modifications, and allergies 4. Food Safety & Sanitation Ensure compliance with HACCP principles and infection control standards Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation logs Oversee proper food storage, labeling, and temperature monitoring 5. Staffing & Training Assist in Hiring, training, and supervisising dietary staff (cooks, aides, dishwashers) Conduct ongoing in-services (food safety, sanitation, diet compliance) Evaluate staff performance and provide corrective action when needed 6. Resident Care Coordination Attend care plan meetings as needed Communicate with nursing staff regarding resident dietary needs Address resident concerns regarding food quality and preferences Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs Ability to work in a kitchen environment with heat, noise, and fast-paced conditions Ability to perform manual food service tasks when necessaryJob Type:
