Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and dishwashing machines. Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock shortages or expired items. Adhere to safe lifting practices when handling heavy items or bulk food supplies to prevent injury. Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and assisting with meal delivery as needed. Follow workplace safety guidelines diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely meal service while respecting residents' or patients' dietary restrictions and preferences. Demonstrate excellent time management skills to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently within scheduled meal times. Qualifications Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable. Knowledge of food production, preparation techniques, and sanitation standards required for healthcare or senior living environments. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively. Strong understanding of dietary requirements for geriatric patients or individuals with special nutritional needs. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and proper body mechanics. Basic math skills for portioning ingredients and managing inventory counts accurately. Excellent customer service skills with a respectful approach toward residents or patients. Experience working with dietary restrictions and adhering to specific meal plans is preferred. Certifications such as CPR or Food Handler's permits are advantageous but not mandatory; training can be provided if necessary.
