Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist in meal preparation, food service, and sanitation within a supportive environment such as assisted living, nursing homes, or other healthcare facilities. This role is vital in ensuring residents receive nutritious meals while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. Prior experience in food production, dietary departments, or food service is preferred, but we welcome applicants with a strong interest in culinary arts and customer service. The Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in supporting the well-being and comfort of our residents through attentive meal service and sanitation practices. Duties Assist with food preparation and meal assembly according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences Serve meals to residents in a courteous and timely manner, ensuring proper portioning and presentation Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through regular sanitation, cleaning, and bussing duties Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations Support the dietary department by organizing supplies, stocking carts, and assisting with inventory management Help with meal delivery within the facility, ensuring residents receive their meals promptly Assist with dishwashing, sanitation of kitchen equipment, and overall cleanliness of food service areas Support dietary staff during special events or menu changes as needed Requirements Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable; culinary or dietary aide experience is preferred Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques Strong time management skills to efficiently coordinate meal preparation and service Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude toward residents and staff Ability to work effectively in a team environment within a fast-paced setting Basic cooking skills including meal preparation and food presentation Familiarity with dietary department operations or dietetics is a plus Ability to follow detailed instructions regarding menus and dietary restrictions Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform cleaning duties as required This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the health and happiness of residents while developing valuable skills in food service and healthcare support. Pay:
$13.00 - $14.00 per hour
