We're looking for a dependable, caring, and hospitality-minded Dietary Aide to join our team. From preparing meals and setting up dining rooms to making sure every tray is served correctly and every resident feels valued, you'll play an important role in making mealtime something to look forward to.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Dietary Aide, you'll help keep meals running smoothly from the kitchen to the dining room while ensuring residents receive the appropriate meals and a welcoming dining experience. Prepare therapeutic desserts, salads, and other food items as needed. Serve meals from the tray line in the Health Center dining rooms and through hall carts. Check and record food temperatures before and after meal service to ensure food safety. Set up Health Center dining rooms before meals and break down dining areas afterward. Transport hot and cold foods and necessary non-food items to and from the Health Center. Set up and maintain beverage and drink stations. Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service as needed. Ensure plates are properly heated to help maintain appropriate food temperatures. Keep nourishment rooms stocked and monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures. Check and record reach-in cooler temperatures twice daily. Complete assigned cleaning duties and maintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining room. Assist with stocking supplies and receiving items as needed. Help with dishwashing and distributing clean dishes when needed. Roll silverware and prepare other items needed for meal service. Maintain workstations and equipment in a safe and sanitary condition. Follow food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, and department dress code standards. Attend required training and education sessions.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

Ability to understand and follow instructions in English. Ability to communicate effectively and perform basic arithmetic, measurements, and conversions. Previous experience in nursing home food service is preferred. Ability to organize work and accurately set up trays and plates according to diet orders, specifications, and established standards. Ability to work cooperatively with residents, guests, families, supervisors, and coworkers. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to work with older adults. A dependable, team-oriented attitude and commitment to excellent customer service.

This is an active, hands-on position for someone who enjoys staying busy and being part of a team. The Dietary Aide must be able to stand and walk throughout the workday, lift and carry up to 30 pounds independently , and push and pull carts weighing up to 50 pounds independently . The role also requires frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and balancing.
