Our center offers a nurturing environment where children from infants to kindergarten age can learn, play, and grow with support tailored to their individual needs. Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and energetic Kitchen Aide to join our team. In this vital role, you will assist in food preparation, sanitation, and meal service to ensure our young learners receive nutritious and safe meals. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting early childhood development through culinary services and dietary support in a caring environment. Duties Assist with food production and meal preparation according to dietary guidelines and safety standards Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas in compliance with food safety regulations Support dietary department staff by bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, mixers, and dishwashers, adhering to workplace safety protocols Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting and safe lifting practices when moving supplies or food items Follow all food handling procedures to meet JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) standards for health and safety Support the overall cleanliness of the kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, disposing of waste properly, and ensuring a safe environment for staff and children Qualifications Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is preferred Knowledge of food preparation, and sanitation practices Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Ability to adhere to dietary requirements and work with diverse nutritional needs of children Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment Experience working with geriatric patients or children is a plus Basic math skills for portioning and inventory management Commitment to workplace safety practices including PPE use and safe lifting techniques CPR certification is desirable but not required; training can be provided Dishwasher experience desired
