Responsibilities Assist with meal preparation, plating, and serving residents according to dietary guidelines and individual preferences Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas following food safety protocols and standards Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and dishwashers Support food handling and storage procedures to ensure proper temperature control and food safety compliance Help with bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and ensuring a tidy environment for residents' comfort Adhere to all workplace safety policies, including proper manual handling techniques and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Collaborate with dietary staff to meet specific dietary requirements for residents with special needs or restrictions Assist in inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying staff of low stock levels Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred Demonstrated ability in food production, meal preparation, or culinary tasks is advantageous Familiarity with working with geriatric patients or in a dietary department setting enhances your fit for this role Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and safe lifting techniques is essential Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of service Customer service experience that reflects compassion and professionalism when interacting with residents and team members This position is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals eager to contribute to a caring environment while developing their skills in nutrition support and food service operations.
