Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Aide, where you will play a vital role in supporting the nutritional needs and well-being of our residents. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, ensuring that meal service and food safety standards are consistently met. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a positive dining experience for our residents, fostering comfort and satisfaction every day. Duties Assist with meal preparation, serving, and clean-up in accordance with dietary requirements and safety protocols Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, including proper handling and storage of food products Support the dietary department by operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Help with food production tasks such as portioning, plating, and delivering meals to residents or patients Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following sanitation procedures, including cleaning dishes, utensils, and kitchen surfaces Assist with manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and safe lifting practices to ensure workplace safety Work collaboratively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to accommodate special dietary needs for geriatric patients or residents in assisted living or nursing home settings Skills Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred Strong knowledge of food preparation, serving, and food safety regulations (e.g., JCAHO standards) Excellent time management skills to handle meal schedules efficiently while maintaining quality standards Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively Familiarity with adhering to dietary requirements and working with diverse nutritional needs Good communication skills for working with team members and providing friendly customer service to residents or patients Basic math skills for portion control, inventory management, and accurate record keeping Knowledge of workplace safety practices, including PPE use, sanitation procedures, and safe lifting techniques Join us in making a difference through nutritious meal service!
