Job Summary Join our dedicated dietary team as a Part-Time Dietary Aide, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will play a vital role in providing exceptional nutritional care to our residents. In this energetic position, you will assist with meal service, food preparation, sanitation, and ensuring compliance with all safety and dietary standards. Your positive attitude and commitment to quality will help create a warm, welcoming environment for our residents while supporting the smooth operation of our dietary department. Responsibilities Assist with meal preparation, portioning, and plating according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences Serve meals efficiently while adhering to proper food handling and sanitation protocols Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through regular cleaning, sanitizing, and bussing duties Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, dishwashers, and food service tools, following all safety procedures Support dietary staff with inventory management and food storage practices in compliance with food safety standards such as JCAHO regulations Adhere strictly to dietary requirements for residents with special diets or medical needs, ensuring accurate meal delivery Practice manual handling and safe lifting techniques when moving heavy trays or supplies to prevent injury Follow workplace safety protocols including PPE use and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff and residents Skills Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, serving, and sanitation standards Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks during busy meal times Ability to work effectively with geriatric patients and understand their specific dietary needs Basic math skills for portion control and inventory management Customer service orientation with a friendly attitude towards residents and staff Knowledge of food safety regulations including proper handling, cleaning, and sanitation practices CPR certification is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified Ability to lift heavy items safely while practicing proper lifting techniques Join us in delivering compassionate care through nutritious meals!
