Job Description
We're growing our culinary team at Warren General Hospital and seeking dependable individuals with a passion for food service and creating a positive patient experience!
JOB DUTIES
Routine procedures in food storage, preparation, service and sanitation Preparation of patient trays Checks for accuracy as to selected menu items or following department protocol and use of diet manual Checks trays for proper food temperatures Assists cooks as needed Makes and serves coffee and special items to patients Delivers food carts to floors; heat and assemble trays for patients Prepares standard tube feedings using department protocol or as directed by supervisor Stocks kitchen on nursing units; stocks food items in stockroom, coolers and freezer Prepares various food items for patient and cafeteria services Performs cashiering duties including cashing out and depositing monies in the designated area for lock-up Prepares and serve food at special hospital functions Performs duties associated with food preparation and service in the Hospital's snack bar by working in cooperation with the Hospital's volunteers and Auxiliary Checks and records temperatures as determined by department protocol, including coolers, walk-in freezers and dishwashers Unlocks, opens and locks refrigerators, walk-in coolers, fire doors, turn off lights and electrical equipment including selected electrical breakers by following department policies and procedures Performs routine keyboard functions to obtain patient daily census reports using hospital order communication system, following department procedures Performs various cleaning functions and sanitation of work areas and equipment Performs pre-washing and washing duties for reusable china, pots, etc Follows and completes various reports Answers phones and intercoms Transports and disposes of garbage and rubbish Participates in Total Quality Improvement activities Participates in departmental cost reduction/cost savings activities Performs duties under the direction of supervisor and will also function without supervision as needed Provides food and services to any patient, employee, staff, visitor or community function as assigned and/or scheduled Performs related duties as required Demonstrates effective communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively, asking pertinent questions, etc. Communicates effectively with hospital departments and staff. Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with patients, staff, and others using a humanistic attitude (anticipates needs, respectful, caring, courteous).Teamwork:
interacts with fellow works in a way that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment. Follows all HACCP guidelines as it relates to food temperatures, sanitation, labeling and datingWORK/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
