Brookview Healthcare Center is seeking compassionate, dependable, and energetic Dietary Aides to join our Dietary Services team. Dietary Aides play an important role in providing nutritious meals and exceptional customer service to our residents while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment. Position Summary The Dietary Aide assists with meal preparation, tray assembly, meal service, dishwashing, sanitation, and kitchen cleaning while following all food safety, infection control, and healthcare regulations. This position contributes to the health, comfort, and satisfaction of our residents through quality food service. Essential Responsibilities Prepare resident meal trays according to physician orders and therapeutic diets. Assist with meal preparation, food portioning, and beverage service. Deliver and collect meal trays in a courteous and timely manner. Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Clean and sanitize workstations and kitchen equipment. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention guidelines. Properly store food and rotate inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices. Maintain cleanliness of refrigerators, freezers, storage areas, and dining rooms. Dispose of trash and recyclables according to facility procedures. Assist the Dietary Manager and Cook with daily kitchen operations. Report equipment concerns, safety hazards, or resident concerns promptly. Work cooperatively with nursing staff and other departments to provide excellent resident care. Maintain a positive, friendly, and professional attitude with residents, families, and coworkers. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous food service, restaurant, healthcare, or long-term care experience preferred but not required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is preferred. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. Strong customer service and communication skills. Must be able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 40 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
