Job Description

The Villas - Independent Senior Living is in need of a full-time Dietary Aide, and we are looking for an individual to assist our cook with preparing delicious meals and helping to maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen. The successful candidate will be working with a team of kitchen staff to create consistently delicious meals and desserts for our residents for both lunch and dinner.
Responsibilities:
One or more years of experience in a commercial kitchen. Must possess or obtain ServSafe Certification and Food Handler's permit as regulated by state and local authorities. (The Villas will pay for certification) Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and the ability to operate it safely. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate food preparation, portioning, plating, as well as the quality of the food. Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage of food and supplies. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and food preparation area. Interact with senior living residents courteously and professionally. Work well with other kitchen staff of dietary aides, and hospitality aides. Willing to learn on-the-job method. Report directly to the cook and dietary manager. The ability to stand for extended periods and handle the physical demands of a busy kitchen. The ability to lift and carry items such as ingredients or supplies, often up to 30-50 pounds.
