This position works independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary and food service teams to assess patients' nutritional needs, develop individualized care plans, monitor outcomes, and support safe, high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities Complete comprehensive nutrition assessments using patient history, laboratory data, anthropometric measurements, nutrition-focused physical findings, and other relevant clinical information. Identify and prioritize nutrition diagnoses using the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nutrition interventions and care plans. Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition goals and interventions as needed. Accurately document nutrition assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, patient rounds, education, and care coordination. Collaborate with food service staff and other Registered Dietitians to support patient-specific diets, food allergies, texture modifications, and continuity of care. Create and maintain menus that comply with regulatory requirements, facility standards, and the approved diet manual. Support quality-improvement initiatives and the development of nutrition-related policies, protocols, educational materials, and clinical forms. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, state licensing, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Serve as a nutrition subject-matter expert and maintain positive, professional relationships with patients, staff, and other departments. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must provide documentation of a current and valid Registered Dietitian credential or license, as applicable.

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Five years of relevant professional experience in dietetics or nutrition as a licensed or credentialed dietitian; or A combination of related education and relevant experience totaling five years. Related education must be in dietetics, food and nutrition, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Applicants must have completed the required dietetics coursework and supervised practice through an ACEND-accredited program. Preferred Qualifications Clinical experience in a hospital or high-security healthcare environment Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric care, or eating disorders Proficiency with electronic health records, nutrition-analysis software, Google Workspace, and Gmail Key Competencies Strong knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process and medical nutrition therapy Sound clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Clear and professional written and verbal communication Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team Commitment to patient-centered care, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement
