Clinical Dietitian Overview Position Details Full-time Day Shift Weekend Rotation $20,000 Sign-On Bonus At Memorial Health, our Clinical Dietitians play a vital role in delivering compassionate, evidence-based nutrition care to hospitalized patients. As a member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will assess patients' nutritional needs, develop individualized nutrition care plans, and provide Medical Nutrition Therapy to support optimal patient outcomes. In this role, you will utilize the Nutrition Care Process to evaluate, diagnose, intervene, and monitor patients while documenting all patient interactions in the electronic medical record. The Clinical Dietitian partners closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments for hospitalized patients. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy plans. Utilize the Nutrition Care Process to provide evidence-based nutrition care. Educate patients and families regarding disease-specific nutrition recommendations. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes. Document assessments, interventions, education, and follow-up care in the electronic medical record. Monitor patient progress and modify nutrition plans as clinically appropriate. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental performance goals. Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and professional practice standards. Support a culture of compassionate, patient-centered care. QualificationsEducation Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a closely related field required. Graduate of an ACEND-accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) or Coordinated Program recognized by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field preferred. Licensure & Certification Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), or registry-eligible at the time of hire. Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in the State of Illinois, or ability to obtain licensure within six (6) months of hire if registry-eligible. Maintain required continuing education and professional development necessary to sustain registration and licensure. Experience One (1) year of experience as a Registered Dietitian preferred. Previous inpatient clinical nutrition experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of evidence-based Medical Nutrition Therapy. Knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process and clinical documentation standards. Excellent communication and patient education skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Strong critical thinking, organization, and time management skills. Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced acute care environment. Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and continuous professional development.

Pay:

$27.52 - $42.65 per hour
