Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical nutrition, patient assessment, and medical nutrition therapy (MNT), with a passion for improving health outcomes through personalized nutrition care. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans, providing nutrition counseling, and supporting patients across various settings including acute care, long-term care, and geriatrics. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong client communication skills, proficiency in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), and experience in managing complex dietary needs. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status and identify specific dietary needs. Develop individualized nutrition care plans tailored to patients' medical conditions, including chronic diseases, weight management, and geriatrics. Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to promote positive behavioral changes. Administer medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and gastrointestinal disorders. Supervise and coordinate dietary services within healthcare facilities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes through integrated nutritional support. Manage tube feeding programs and oversee nutritional support for patients requiring enteral or parenteral nutrition. Utilize EMR/EHR systems for documentation, tracking patient progress, and maintaining accurate health records. Educate patients on dietary modifications, lifestyle changes, and long-term disease management strategies. Assist in the training of dietary staff and supervise interns or junior dietitians when applicable. Requirements Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from an accredited program is required. Proven experience in clinical nutrition within hospital or long-term care settings is essential. Strong knowledge of physiology related to digestion, metabolism, and nutritional requirements across diverse populations including geriatrics. Experience with medical nutrition therapy (MNT), weight loss programs, and chronic disease management is highly desirable. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) for documentation and patient tracking. Demonstrated ability to develop care plans for individuals with specific dietary needs such as tube feeding or specialized diets. Supervising experience in dietary departments or healthcare teams is preferred. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to motivate and educate patients effectively. Knowledge of dietary considerations in acute care environments as well as long-term care facilities is advantageous.
