Duties Lead and manage the dietary department, supervising food service teams to ensure efficient operations and high-quality meal preparation. Develop and implement care plans that incorporate clinical nutrition principles tailored to individual patient or resident needs. Oversee food production processes, ensuring meals are nutritious, appealing, and compliant with health regulation policies. Conduct patient assessments related to nutrition requirements, including tube feeding management and diagnostic evaluations. Maintain strict adherence to food safety management practices and health code compliance across all food service activities. Manage budgets effectively to optimize resource allocation while maintaining quality standards. Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for documentation of care plans, dietary assessments, and progress notes. Ensure staff receive ongoing training in food safety management, physiology knowledge, and healthcare regulations. Collaborate with healthcare teams to integrate nutrition into overall care strategies and support health coaching initiatives. Monitor compliance with state and federal health regulations related to food service operations in healthcare settings or assisted living facilities. Qualifications Proven experience in dietary management within assisted living or healthcare environments, with a strong understanding of patient assessment and clinical nutrition. Demonstrated supervisory skills with successful team management experience in food service or dietary departments. Knowledge of health regulation policies, food safety management, and food service health code compliance. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation related to dietetics and care plans. Strong background in managing budgets, food production processes, and managing food service teams effectively. Experience with tube feeding protocols, acute care nutrition needs, and diagnostic evaluation is highly desirable. Excellent leadership skills combined with a passion for promoting wellness through nutrition-focused care strategies. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and regulatory adherence.
