About Us Batch School for the Medically Fragile is a Pediatric Day Health and Respite Care (PDHRC) facility serving children and young adults ages 0-21 with complex medical needs. We provide skilled nursing care, therapeutic programming, and a safe, nurturing day environment so families can work, rest, and care for the rest of their household while their medically fragile child is in expert hands. Position Summary The Director of Nursing is the clinical leader of the facility, responsible for the oversight, quality, and regulatory compliance of all nursing and clinical care services provided to our participants. This role reports directly to the CEO/Administrator and works in close partnership with facility leadership to ensure clinical operations meet and exceed CDPH, Title 22, and Health & Safety Code requirements at all times. Key Responsibilities Oversee and directly supervise all nursing staff, including scheduling, competency validation, and performance management Ensure 24/7 clinical coverage standards are met, including compliant staffing ratios and backup coverage for all shifts Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and clinical protocols in accordance with Title 22 CCR and

licensing requirements Maintain and audit Individualized Health Plans (IHPs), Medication Administration Records (MARs), TVO (telephone verbal order) logs, controlled substance logs, and other clinical documentation Serve as a primary clinical liaison during CDPH surveys and inspections; lead corrective action responses for any deficiencies Establish and maintain a signed RN consultation/oversight arrangement as required by licensing Train and validate staff competency in emergency response, medication administration, and specialized medical procedures (tracheostomy care, G-tube feeding, suctioning, seizure management, etc.) Coordinate with families, physicians, regional center service coordinators, and transfer facilities on each participant's plan of care Participate in Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities and maintain infection control standards Manage clinical supply inventory, equipment logs, and cleaning/sanitation protocols per regulatory standards Qualifications Active, unencumbered California Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 3-5 years of pediatric nursing experience; experience with medically fragile or medically complex populations strongly preferred Prior supervisory or nursing leadership experience required Working knowledge of Title 22 CCR, Division 5, and CDPH licensing standards for PDHRC or similar facilities strongly preferred Current BLS/CPR certification (PALS preferred) Experience with EHR/clinical documentation systems Excellent communication skills for working with families, regulators, and multidisciplinary staff Ability to pass background clearance (DOJ/FBI/Fair Chance Act compliant screening) and health screening requirements for licensed childcare facilities What We Offer Competitive salary commensurate with experience Meaningful, mission-driven work supporting medically fragile children and their families Collaborative leadership team and a brand-new, purpose-built facility Health/dental/vision, PTO, 401
