Job Description

Description Director of Nursing Services Canaan, CT Join a mission-driven team transforming the lives of individuals recovering from substance use disorders. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing Services to lead nursing services for our 19-bed medically monitored detoxification unit and 75-bed residential treatment program. This leadership role provides oversight of all nursing services while partnering closely with the Medical Director and Director of Detox Operations to ensure exceptional patient care and regulatory compliance.

Your Role:
Lead and supervise all nursing services across detox and residential programs to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care Oversee nursing staffing, scheduling, recruitment, and staff development Maintain compliance with state, federal, and accrediting agency requirements Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and clinical protocols Collaborate with medical, clinical, and operational leadership to optimize patient outcomes Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development for nursing staff
Qualifications:
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut or licensed in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state with eligibility to practice in Connecticut, required BSN and/or MSN preferred Minimum 3 years of progressive nursing leadership experience required Minimum 1 year experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, and/or detoxification services, required Demonstrated success in staff leadership, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement required Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills required
Compensation:
The salary for this position is $130,000•$140,000 annually based on qualifications. Actual compensation is determined by job-related factors including skills, education, training, certifications, experience, scope of responsibilities, performance, and geographic location.
