$95,000 - $115,000 (based on experience) Position Overview Yamato Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) /Staff Development / Infection Preventionist RN to join our leadership team. This essential dual-role position supports our commitment to regulatory compliance, patient safety, and staff excellence. Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and lead comprehensive orientation for new hires, including clinical competencies and mandatory training. Develop and deliver ongoing in-service education in accordance with facility standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate documentation of staff training, competencies, certifications, and licensure. Provide coaching and performance feedback to promote clinical excellence. Identify training needs through performance evaluations, clinical outcomes, and survey trends. Support and promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Oversee infection prevention practices, surveillance, reporting, and compliance with federal and state guidelines.
Qualifications Licensure:
Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field preferred. Staff Development experience in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment. Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations, JCAHO standards, survey processes, and competency requirements. Must be Infection Preventionist certified. Minimum 2-3 years of nursing experience in long-term care. Experience with PointClickCare, Relias, NHSN, Florida Department of Health, and Florida SHOTS. At least 1 year of experience in Staff Development, Infection Prevention, or quality improvement preferred. Certifications CPR Instructor certification preferred. CPHRM or Staff Development certifications (e.g., CDDN, NPD-BC) are a plus or must be obtained within a designated timeframe. Skills Strong understanding of long-term care regulations (CMS, F-tags, OSHA). Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and leadership skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records (EHR). Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective at coaching and motivating staff.
