Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our healthcare facility. This pivotal role requires a passionate leader committed to delivering exceptional resident care, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will bring extensive nursing management experience, a deep understanding of assisted living, nursing home, home health, hospice care, and acute care settings, along with strong leadership skills to drive quality improvement initiatives and uphold the highest standards of nursing practice. Duties Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing departments, ensuring efficient shift management and optimal staffing levels. Develop, review, and update comprehensive care plans tailored to each resident's needs, incorporating medical records, documentation review, and interdisciplinary input. Supervise nurse management staff and direct nursing teams to ensure high-quality resident care aligned with regulatory standards such as Medicare and HIPAA. Oversee the implementation and utilization of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with privacy laws. Monitor clinical operations including MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments, medication administration, and medical terminology accuracy across all shifts. Lead quality assurance initiatives by reviewing medical records, documentation accuracy, and compliance with healthcare regulations related to physiology knowledge, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans that promote resident well-being while managing resources effectively. Ensure staff training on HIPAA compliance, medical records management, documentation review procedures, and best practices in nurse management. Facilitate communication with residents' families regarding care plans and health updates while maintaining a compassionate approach. Experience Proven management experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health agencies or hospice care environments. Extensive supervising experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on nurse management and nursing administration. Demonstrated expertise in shift management, staffing coordination, and leadership within acute care or long-term care settings. Familiarity with EMR systems and EHR systems for accurate documentation review and medical records management. Strong knowledge of Medicare regulations, healthcare compliance standards (including HIPAA), and medical terminology relevant to nursing practice. Experience working with residents' care plans involving physiology knowledge, anatomy knowledge, and comprehensive documentation processes. Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement in resident care quality.
