: Director of Nursing
OBJECTIVE
: The Director of Nursing is accountable for quality of care and medical administration and training with direction from the Executive Director and Board of Directors. Plans, organizes, and directs medical activities of the staff and support staff engaged in resident care practices in accordance with State Licensing, SHSS policies, procedures and standards.
NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS
:
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to bend, squat and lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Must be free from all communicable diseases.
  • Must have a compassionate and caring demeanor along with a calm, comfortable approach with the senior population.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Must be a team player and have a positive attitude.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written format with co-workers, residents, families, visitors, volunteers and community members.
  • Must have a work history providing dependability and punctuality.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must be able to multitask, have organizational skills and have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work under the direction and policies of SHSS.
  • Must have 3 years of nursing experience.
EDUCATION
1. High School Diploma required. 2. Must have LPN or RN license
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director the DON of Superior Health Support Systems will: 1. Responsible for monthly diabetic foot care, administering resident injections, ear irrigation as needed, and completing wound changes. 2. Responsible for tracking resident falls and incident reports, responding to incident reports in Medication Documentation records. 3.
Work with physician office:
  • Schedule all resident appointments-medical, dental, rehab, counseling, foot care, etc.
  • Obtain needed documentation, procedure changes, follow up as needed.
Upon return from any appointment or ER/Hospital visit: a. Review all changes and record appropriately in resident's records. b. Obtain needed documentation and procedural changes. c. Schedule all follow up appointments. 4. Responsible for organizing and leading monthly QI meetings. 5. Coordinate with the provider to ensure all paperwork is obtained for new admissions and verify medications to provider orders, 6. Coordinate with outside agencies for incontinence supplies 7. Produce and review medication policies and procedures. 8. Participate in monthly QI meetings, agency planning, goal setting and policy development. 9. Perform medication education to staff and monitor skills checkoff. 10. Assisting with disciplinary actions regarding med errors and resident care. 11. Review resident medications as needed and monitor PRN medications and documentation 12. Responsible for coordinating staff trainings. 13. Support staff as needed with medical questions and resident concerns. 14. Assisting managers with resident evictions as needed. 15. Other duties assigned by the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Pay:
$56,500.00 - $62,500.00 per year
