Job Description
Cornerstone Nursing & Rehab Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team and ensure exceptional resident care. The DON oversees all nursing operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports a positive, resident‑centered care environment. We are a 5-Star, 47 bed facility in a strong family like community with a well staffed department which includes a team of office RNs to support you. Cornerstone will fully supports and encourages professional development with a membership to MN-DONA and/or professional organizations related to the position. Key Responsibilities of the Director of Nursing RN to Lead, develop, and manage all functions of the Nursing Services Department. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations. RN oversees nursing policies, procedures, and quality assurance initiatives. Coordinate nursing services with other departments to maintain continuity of resident care. Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate nursing staff; manage scheduling and staffing needs. Conduct rounds to ensure quality standards and resident satisfaction. Participate in facility committees, audits, surveys, and performance improvement efforts. Maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure adherence to infection control standards. Oversee proper use of medications, supplies, and equipment. Promote resident rights, dignity, and respect at all times. Qualifications of the Director of Nursing Current, unencumbered RN license in Minnesota. Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required. Experience in long‑term care and geriatric nursing preferred. CPR certification. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Knowledge of state and federal long‑term care regulations. Ability to manage sensitive situations, respond to inquiries, and support resident/family needs. Schedule Primarily weekday schedule (Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30), with flexibility based on operational needs.
