Job Description

Director of Nursing (DON) Full-Time | Exempt | Leadership Role We are seeking an experienced and decisive Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the Nursing Services Department and ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and resident-centered care. This role is responsible for the overall clinical operations of the facility and plays a critical role in regulatory compliance, staff leadership, and quality outcomes. This position is ideal for a strong nurse leader who values accountability, structure, and consistent standards of care. Responsibilities Plan, organize, develop, and direct all nursing services in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations Provide clinical leadership and oversight to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and nursing supervisors Ensure compliance with survey readiness, quality measures, and regulatory requirements Develop, maintain, and enforce nursing policies and procedures Oversee staffing levels, scheduling practices, and nursing assignments Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives Participate in surveys, audits, investigations, and plan-of-correction development Review clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance Collaborate with physicians, administration, and interdisciplinary teams Participate in admissions, care planning, discharges, and PASARR processes Monitor incident reports, medication errors, and corrective action plans Recruit, train, evaluate, and discipline nursing staff as needed Qualifications Current, active RN license in the state Prior Director of Nursing or senior nursing leadership experience preferred Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and clinical standards Proven leadership, decision-making, and staff management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills Physical Requirements Standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility Participation in clinical environments as needed Exposure to healthcare settings and equipment Reasonable accommodations may be provided.
