Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to oversee the direction, provision, and quality of nursing services within Behavioral Health and Re-entry Services. Reporting to the Director, this role provides managerial oversight of nursing staff and supports program teams to ensure clients receive appropriate services based on assessed needs. This position is ideal for a licensed Registered Professional Nurse with nursing supervision or administration experience in substance abuse treatment who can balance clinical oversight, staff leadership, quality assurance, compliance, and client-centered care.

What You'll Do:

Provide nursing services as directed Oversee facility nursing services and directly supervise nursing staff Support, train, and guide staff delivering nursing and treatment-related services to clients Assist in developing and maintaining nursing objectives, policies, procedures, organizational plans, and quality assurance processes Review nursing policies and procedures annually Participate in planning and budgeting for nursing services with the facility management team Ensure nursing services are coordinated and integrated with other client care services to support continuity of care Participate in staff orientation and staff education activities when applicable Ensure compliance with required medical staffing patterns Ensure all medical interventions are documented in the clinical file Lead selection and hiring processes for nursing staff, including reference checks, credentials, background checks, orientation, training, and assignment of duties Follow all safety and security procedures required by VOADV, licensing agencies, and funding sources Represent the agency in appropriate external coalitions, committees, and meetings Provide ongoing feedback regarding program initiatives, philosophy, models, and approaches Meet weekly with the Treatment Team to review service delivery and support staff development planning Build relationships with community agencies to develop alternate treatment support and aftercare resources Be on-call for medical emergencies as scheduled Complete other duties as assigned

What You Need:

Current Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey At least 6 months of full-time experience or full-time equivalent in nursing supervision or nursing administration in the management of addictions in a licensed substance abuse treatment facility Ability to pass criminal background clearance from the funding source Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical Basic computer experience required Strong leadership, communication, organization, and follow-through skills Ability to work collaboratively with program leadership, treatment teams, nursing staff, clients, and community partners Commitment to confidentiality, safety, compliance, and client-centered service delivery
