Job Description

An established and well-respected skilled nursing facility is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department. This is an outstanding opportunity for a compassionate, results-driven nursing leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional resident care while building and supporting a high-performing clinical team. The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing all nursing operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a positive culture centered around resident care and staff development. Responsibilities Direct and oversee all nursing services within the skilled nursing facility. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS and Department of Health requirements. Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop nursing leadership and clinical staff. Monitor quality measures, clinical outcomes, and resident satisfaction while implementing performance improvement initiatives. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure exceptional resident-centered care. Oversee staffing, scheduling, labor management, and nursing department budgets. Lead survey readiness efforts and successfully manage state and federal inspections. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure adherence to facility policies and procedures. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment. Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility, including experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing or Director of Nursing. Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, survey process, infection prevention, and quality assurance. Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, resident-focused environment.
