Help Us Build Something From the Ground Up Meadows Eye Physicians & Surgeons is expanding our practice with a new Ambulatory Surgery Center dedicated exclusively to ophthalmic surgery — and we're looking for a Director of Nursing who wants more than a job. We're looking for a clinical leader who wants to help build something. This isn't stepping into a fully established program with years of entrenched process. This is a rare opportunity to help shape how our surgery center runs from the ground floor: the workflows, the culture, the standards of care, the team. You'll work directly alongside our physicians and administrative leadership to design a center that reflects clinical excellence and operational efficiency — and you'll leave your own fingerprint on how it all comes together. Job Overview The Director of Nursing (DON) will lead all nursing and clinical operations for our ophthalmology-focused Ambulatory Surgery Center. You'll oversee care across pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia phases for a high-volume, fast-turnover ophthalmic surgical population — including cataract, glaucoma, retina, and oculoplastic procedures. You'll also lead regulatory compliance, staff development, and quality programs, working closely with our Administrator, Medical Director, and Governing Board to help set the direction of the center. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical oversight and hands-on leadership across pre-op, OR/circulating, and PACU nursing care. Build and lead nursing protocols specific to ophthalmic surgery, including topical/local/MAC anesthesia care and rapid post-op recovery standards. Own the center's regulatory compliance, including CMS Conditions for Coverage, state ASC licensure, OSHA, and accreditation standards (AAAHC, AAAASF, or Joint Commission). Lead the Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and infection-control practices. Recruit, train, schedule, and develop nursing and clinical support staff, including building out ophthalmology-specific onboarding and competency programs. Partner with practice leadership on budgeting, staffing strategy, and day-to-day operational decisions. Serve as a trusted clinical resource for complex cases, emergencies, and staff development. What We're Looking For Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Nevada . BSN required ; MSN, MHA, or related graduate degree a plus. Current BLS and ACLS certification. CNOR or CASC certification preferred, not required. Minimum 5 years of perioperative or ambulatory surgery nursing experience. Minimum 2-3 years of nursing leadership experience in an ASC or perioperative setting. Ophthalmic surgical experience strongly preferred, but we welcome strong perioperative leaders from other specialties who are excited to learn ophthalmology. Experience with regulatory surveys, accreditation, and quality program management is a big plus. What You Can Expect From Us Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
