Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) to join our dedicated healthcare team. Responsibilities Assist the Director of Nursing in managing the overall nursing department, including staffing, scheduling, and shift management to ensure smooth operations. Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to promote professional growth and high standards of care. Oversee the development and implementation of individualized care plans for residents, ensuring they meet medical and emotional needs. Review medical records, documentation, and medical records to ensure accuracy, compliance with HIPAA regulations, and adherence to facility policies. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate resident care across various settings such as skilled nursing, home health, hospice care, and acute care environments. Monitor compliance with Medicare regulations and other healthcare standards while managing documentation review processes within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Lead quality assurance initiatives by analyzing resident outcomes like MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and ensuring documentation aligns with regulatory requirements. Prepares for and participates in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies. Serves on facility committees (i.e., Infection Control, Policy Advisory, Pharmaceutical, Budget, Quality Assessment and Assurance, Care Planning, etc.). Ensures that new nursing staff are properly oriented and trained. Skills Extensive knowledge of nursing practices across skilled nursing facilities, home health services, hospice care, and acute care settings. Proven experience in nurse management and supervising nursing teams effectively within a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and care plan development tailored to diverse resident needs. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation review and medical records management. Ability to interpret complex regulations including HIPAA compliance and Medicare guidelines to maintain legal and ethical standards. Leadership skills that inspire teamwork, foster professional development, and promote a culture of excellence in resident care. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with residents' families, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies. Demonstrated competence in shift management, medical records oversight, and documentation review processes.
