What You'll Do Position Summary:
The Director Nursing has 24-hour responsibility for the operations of patient care departments and other assigned services at Adena Health System. Leads a team of managers and specialists for multiple units and/or prompts in establishing an environment that supports the professional practice of nursing as essential and integral to patient care.
The Director is responsible for:
managing department operations including determining the vision and direction for the respective area/department(s); determining strategic and operational plans to support the vision of the department(s) and health system, optimizing the plans, and evaluating/revising the plans as needed; coordinating/integrating services within the department and with other departments in line with Adena's mission/vision/values; resource management including recommending an appropriate staffing plan, space management and selection of outside services when necessary; staff development including orientation, professional development, in-service training, continuing education, and evaluating manager and employee performance; demonstrating customer satisfaction (internal and external); developing/implementing policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of department services; maintaining appropriate quality control programs and ensuring compliance with appropriate patient care and business practices; maintaining infection control standards; and implementing appropriate patient safety protocols as necessary. The Director serves as a leader and mentor both within the department and throughout the health system, adhering to Adena's mission, vision, value, and service statements and demonstrating positive customer relations both internal and external.
Minimum Qualifications Required Educational Degree:
Master's Degree required; current employees must obtain within 24 months of hire
Major/Area of Concentration:
Nursing, Business Preferred Education:
MSN, MHA, MBA or other related post graduate degree.
Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses:
RN - Registered Nurse with Current Ohio License. Department specific or administrative certifications. BLS completed within 90 days of hire. Specialty certifications to be completed within 36 months of hire.
