Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our long-term care center. Duties Provide visionary leadership for nursing staff, including nurse managers and clinical teams, to ensure optimal patient care and staff development. Develop, implement, and monitor care plans tailored to residents' individual needs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations such as Medicare and HIPAA. Oversee the management of medical records, documentation review, and electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems to maintain accuracy and confidentiality. Ensure adherence to long-term care facility regulations, including MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments, quality assurance programs, and regulatory audits. Supervise shift management to guarantee adequate staffing levels while maintaining budget efficiency. Promote resident's rights by fostering a respectful environment that emphasizes dignity, autonomy, and personalized care. Lead efforts in regulatory compliance related to Medicare, Medicaid, hospice care, home health services, memory care units, and acute care requirements. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans that address physiology and anatomy considerations for diverse resident populations. Facilitate ongoing training on medical terminology, documentation standards, HIPAA compliance, and best practices in nursing administration. Manage performance evaluations, supervise disciplinary actions when necessary, and support professional growth within the nursing team. Experience Proven management experience in long-term care facilities with demonstrated success in nurse management or nursing administration roles. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used in healthcare settings for documentation review and medical records management. Deep understanding of long-term care regulations including Medicare standards, Medicaid policies, and state licensing requirements. Prior experience supervising multidisciplinary teams within nursing or healthcare settings is essential. Demonstrated leadership skills in managing care facility teams while ensuring high-quality patient care standards are met consistently. Knowledge of medical terminology along with physiology and anatomy fundamentals relevant to diverse resident needs. Strong background in regulatory compliance practices related to HIPAA privacy rules and documentation protocols.
