We offer support, compassion and peace of mind to the Elders and family members we serve. We are seeking a motivated Director of Nursing to oversee the healthcare of approximately 40 to 50 Elders on a day to day basis. The Director of Nursing performs resident health assessments; provides training/oversight to staff for medication assistance, health monitoring and assistance with health-related tasks, as allowed by regulation; and coordinates resident care with third-party providers such as physicians, pharmacy and home health agencies. The Director of Nursing will assist the Administrator on a day to day basis to effectively utilize available resources to ensure operational objectives are met.

Essential Job Functions:

Therefore, the following list of duties is not all-inclusive: Oversees daily healthcare of the community to ensure resident's health needs are met. Ensures Wellness Checks, Assessments, Care Plans, Immunizations, Interdisciplinary Team documentation are completed on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis in compliance with policies and/or regulatory guidelines. Responsible for staffing functions to include hiring, training, supervision, scheduling and monitoring of care partners in the administration of direct care within the community to include health monitoring and assistance with activities of daily living and health-related tasks; provides hands on resident care as needed. Maintains appropriate staffing and supply inventories in compliance with company budget. Provides ongoing assessment/observation of residents' physical and mental health needs and Coordinates quality of care by working with third party vendors to include physicians, home health, hospice, DME, pharmacy, CHOICES providers, and others. Ensures effective implementation of physician's orders. Ensures medications are administered and stored properly ridding any expired or discontinued medications per company policy as well as state and federal regulations. Maintains documentation to include incidents, care alerts, resident charts, medication records, immunizations and human resources utilizing Residex software and/or company forms as appropriate. Maintains clean and organized nurse offices and medication carts. Assist in implementation and compliance of the company's policies and procedures. Interacts with residents, their families and staff, acknowledges concerns and solves problems within the community. Responsible for completion of paperwork for safety compliance and job related injuries and incidents. Assist in development, implementation as well as attend all in-service education programs. Maintain understanding of community and financial resources and assist family members and clients in their utilization. Provide tours utilizing company best practices techniques. Implement all potential client documentation and communication in company software as designated. Be familiar with Universal Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, and Fire Drill & Evacuation Procedures and know how to use the information. Maintain confidentiality of resident, staff and facility records/information. Perform other tasks or work in other roles as directed by the Administrator and/or Regional Director.

Physical Requirements:

Requires heavy lifting, exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently. Constant sitting, standing and walking with frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, turning and stretching. Visual and hearing acuity essential.

Educational/Professional Requirements:

Must hold State of Tennessee Nurse License (LPN or RN). Prior experience in healthcare or adult senior living is preferred. Required to be available on an "On Call" basis which could include nights and weekends. Must have excellent communication and leadership skills.
