This role is responsible for ensuring safe, resident-centered care, supporting nursing staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and promoting a therapeutic environment for residents with behavioral health and mental health needs. Key Responsibilities
- Direct, supervise, and support nursing staff to ensure high-quality resident care and clinical accountability.
- Oversee medication management, resident assessments, service plans, documentation, and changes in condition.
- Promote a safe, trauma-informed, and therapeutic environment for residents receiving mental health treatment.
- Ensure compliance with state assisted living regulations, nursing standards, facility policies, and applicable behavioral health requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, families, and facility leadership to coordinate care.
- Lead nursing staff recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management.
- Monitor quality assurance, infection prevention, incident reporting, risk management, and resident safety initiatives.
- Develop and update nursing policies, procedures, and staff education programs as needed.
- Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records and ensure timely completion of required documentation.
- Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of clinical services. Qualifications
- Current, active nursing license in good standing; RN preferred or required based on state regulations.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in assisted living, long-term care, behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, or a related setting.
- Prior nursing leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Strong knowledge of resident assessment, medication administration, care planning, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health diagnoses, behavioral health needs, or co-occurring conditions strongly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
- Ability to respond calmly and professionally to clinical concerns, behavioral situations, and resident or family needs.
- CPR certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
