Aviva Pembroke is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as our Director of Nursing and lead our resident care team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. What You'll Do Provide leadership, direction, and support to the community's nursing and resident care teams. Help ensure nursing services comply with applicable federal and Virginia regulations, licensing requirements, and community policies. Participate in pre-admission assessments for prospective residents. Complete admission, monthly, periodic, and change-of-condition resident assessments. Develop, review, and revise individualized care plans at admission, as required by regulation, and whenever a resident experiences a change in physical or psychosocial condition. Monitor residents' functional, physical, and cognitive abilities and coordinate appropriate interventions. Review, transcribe, and help ensure the accurate implementation of physician orders. Administer and document medications in accordance with established standards of practice and the five rights of medication administration. Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with resident examinations as needed. Help residents and families coordinate medical, dental, laboratory, and other healthcare appointments. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation. Participate in staff development, training, and continuing-education programs. Promote strong communication among residents, families, physicians, associates, and community leadership. Ensure compliance with personnel policies and established community procedures. Understand and implement the community's Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Plan during drills and emergencies. Maintain dependable attendance and meet the scheduling requirements of the position. Perform additional duties as assigned. What You'll Bring Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia . At least two years of progressively responsible experience in senior living, assisted living, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting. Nursing leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred. Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Knowledge of resident assessments, individualized service plans, medication management, and applicable healthcare regulations. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. A resident-centered approach and a genuine passion for serving older adults.
