Full Job Description Job Summary:
Accountable for the day-to-day management of the activities of the Therapy Department to assure proper utilization of available resources and continuous quality improvement. Responsible for the development of the Rehab Department and coordinating the integration with other therapies.Responsibilities:
1.Direct the rehabilitation staff in the evaluation and treatment of patients. 2.Develop, motivate and complete performance evaluations of subordinates to ensure a high degree of quality and efficient use of resources, human and material. Directly responsible for providing an excellent learning atmosphere for staff, including clinical education programs for professional programs to enhance recruitment and retention. 3.Responsible for the orientation of new employees, including policy and procedure as it pertains to the department and relates to the facility. 4.Assist in the establishment of the department's operating and capital budgets to assure adequate resources for professional development and departmental enhancement. 5.Effective and efficient utilization maintaining high standards of quality. 6.Recruitment and retention of high quality personnel consistent with job requirements. 7.Self-initiating with a high emphasis on visibility and availability for staff. 8.Responsible for the departments quality improvement program. 9.Interview, select, promote and counsel departmental personnel in conjunction with the Company Policy and Procedures Manual. 10.Internet with patients and family members as appropriate. Maintain patient/guest relations consistent with Company policy. 11.Assist with departmental efforts for marketing in areas of interest. 12.Attend and participate in scheduled in-service programs and staff meetings. 13.Maintain confidentiality of necessary information. 14.Utilize supplies and equipment properly and without waste. 15.Think and act calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job without being thrown off stride. 16.Perform any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required. 17.Follow established infection control precautions, adhering to Universal Blood and Body Fluid precautions, following policy and center specific infection control policies and procedures.Job Requirements:
1.Credentialed graduate of an accredited physical, occupational or speech therapy program with an associate or master's degree, and licensed in the state where practicing. 2.Three year's minimum clinical experience as a, practicing therapist with previous management/supervisory experience required. oAbility to lift 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up than pounds 3.Less than.110% travel to local area facilities. 4.Ability to work inside with exposure to some disagreeable conditions. 5.Communicate effectively with residents, families, PT, ot, st, restorative staff and facility staff in general. 6.Must be capable of executing all terms and conditions set forth in the Employee Handbook, including but not limited to: oWork in a safety conscious manner to ensure that others in the workplace am not at risk oComply with local, state and federal regulations in addition to company policies and procedures. oAdhere to Company policy of a drug free workplace. oInteract in a, tactful, diplomatic, and humanistic manner with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers to provide a safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective caring environment to ensure the self-respect, personal dignity, rights and physical safety of each resident and center guest. oMaintain a dependable attendance record and adhere to standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene and dress code.
