Position Summary The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for the strategic, operational, and clinical management of the rehabilitation department, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology services. The DOR ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, drives excellent patient outcomes, manages staffing and productivity, and fosters a collaborative interdisciplinary environment. Essential Responsibilities Direct and oversee all rehabilitation services within the facility. Manage daily operations of Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy programs. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid requirements. Monitor therapy outcomes, quality measures, and patient satisfaction metrics. Develop and manage departmental budgets, productivity standards, and resource utilization. Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate rehabilitation staff. Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to establish and achieve resident goals. Oversee scheduling and staffing to ensure appropriate therapy coverage. Participate in care plan meetings and discharge planning activities. Ensure accurate and timely documentation, billing, and reimbursement practices. Implement performance improvement initiatives designed to enhance resident outcomes and operational efficiency. Maintain a positive culture focused on resident-centered care and employee engagement. Qualifications Required Current licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of practice. Minimum of three (3) years of rehabilitation experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, inpatient rehabilitation, or post-acute care setting. Minimum of one (1) year of leadership or supervisory experience. Working knowledge of Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, PDPM, managed care, and rehabilitation reimbursement systems. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
