AHMG Epilepsy at Orlando 615 E. Princeton St., Suite 540, Orlando, FL 32803 Monday- Thursday 8am
- 5pm / Friday 8am
- 2pm
- PRN schedule Performs quality recordings by collecting pertinent patient history information, properly preparing the patient using age-specific criteria, conducting the examination, and preparing the recording for physician interpretation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of EEG procedures and equipment. [Required]
- Ability to observe EEG tracings and respond appropriately to seizure activity. [Required]
- Ability to recognize artifact and reapply or replace appropriate electrode(s). [Required]
- Ability to function independently with little or no supervision. [Required]
- Ability to communicate effectively, including the ability to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients and visitors. [Required]
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. [Required]
- Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft® Office applications and basic computer use, or willingness to learn. [Preferred]
- Ability to successfully perform EEG recordings. [Required]
- Demonstrates a specialized level of knowledge and understanding of hospital nursing practices, telemetry monitor, infection control procedures, biomedical equipment/electronics, CPR, patient transport, and fire and safety practices. [Required]
- A level of knowledge normally achieved through an EKG Technician program. [Required]
- Organizational skills. [Required]
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions. [Required]
- Keyboarding (manual) and computer (visual) skills. [Required]
- Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care which addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety age-appropriate needs of the patient populations served within the department.
