An EKG Technician assists with specialized tests using an electrocardiogram machine, to monitor the performance of a patient's heart. Works under the direction of a physician or specialist. Explains test procedures to patients, sets up and runs equipment and monitors readings. Provides reports and readings from the test to a physician for analysis.

SUMMARY:
Performs diagnostic cardiology procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by; or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient care (newborn, infant, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric). QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS
One to three years experience preferred, but not required. Knowledge of cardiovascular technology, cardiac pathophysiology, hemodynamics.
EKG recordings:
prep, technique, and lead placements. Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects. Good communication skills, ethical and professional conduct, good understanding of age-related developmental issue of pediatrics and geriatrics. Flexibility to work overtime as needed, weekend rotate. Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of concentration, memory retention, alertness and the ability to handle stress with quick response to assigned duties.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required Successful completion of dysrhythmia course BLS required
Pay Range:
