315 Job Description Position Summary FSN is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Electrophysiology Technologist (EP Tech) to join our dynamic Cardiac Services team. The EP Tech will play a vital role in supporting physicians during diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures, including catheter ablations, device implantations, and electrophysiology studies. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy, arrhythmia recognition, intracardiac mapping systems, and electrophysiology laboratory procedures. This position requires strong technical expertise, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist electrophysiologists during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac electrophysiology procedures. Prepare, operate, and troubleshoot EP laboratory equipment, including recording systems and mapping platforms. Monitor and document cardiac rhythms and intracardiac electrograms during procedures. Assist with catheter ablations for supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, ventricular tachycardia, and other cardiac arrhythmias. Support implantation and testing of pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices, and loop recorders. Maintain sterile technique and assist with patient preparation and procedural setup. Operate fluoroscopy and imaging equipment in accordance with radiation safety standards. Ensure accurate procedural documentation and inventory management. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other allied health professionals to provide high-quality patient care. Participate in emergency response situations and assist with advanced cardiac life support measures as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or related healthcare field. Minimum of 1-2 years of recent Electrophysiology Lab experience in an acute care hospital. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. Ability to participate in on-call, weekend, holiday, and after-hours coverage.
