- Leads the daily operations of the electroneurodiagnostic (END) testing area, ensuring that all compliance requirements and quality standards are met.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Leads or coordinates shift operations of assigned activities, resources and staff. Oversees orientation and training and serves as a resource to department staff. + Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards. + Conducts intraoperative monitoring and post-surgical monitoring of stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) during surgical procedures. + Performs diagnostic electroencephalograph (EEG) and electromyography (EMG) procedures when not in the operating room. Performs neuromonitoring of routine and continuous EEGs. + May perform Magnetoencephalography (MEG) procedures or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) procedures. + Works under limited supervision with oversight focused on complex new assignments. Completes a variety of atypical assignments. + Routinely checks status of EEG software, troubleshoots, and notifies appropriate service and user personnel when troubleshooting procedures fail. + Maintains appropriate logs for statistical and accounting purposes, and purposes and performs calculations for required reports. + Assists in quality assurance monitoring, environmental controls, infection control standards, equipment selection, operation, application and inventory. + Identifies and corrects for artifacts. Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation. + Maintains EEG, EMG, and MEG equipment and supplies. + May provide input for hiring, training, leading, and evaluating staff. + Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. + Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION
+ High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experienceEXPERIENCE
+ Three years' experience in electroneurodiagnostic proceduresPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Constant standing and walking. + Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. + Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. + Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. + Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry. + Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors. + Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. + Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships. + Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. + Occasional lifting/moving patients. + Occasional use of smell to detect/recognize odors. + Occasional driving.REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
