Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Mine Site Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide critical medical support in a dynamic mining environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responds to calls for service and provides advanced life support (ALS), as needed, within the prescribed scope of practice, established protocols, and company policies. Assesses, stabilizes, and transports sick or injured patients to the appropriate medical facility. Determines and coordinates the most appropriate method of patient transport based on clinical condition, location, and operational circumstances, including requesting air medical transport, arranging a rendezvous with another ground transport unit, or transporting the patient directly when necessary. Delivers advanced, critical care and dedicated medical standby coverage in an active mine environment while integrating directly with the site's Incident Command Structure, emergency management, and industrial safety systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Expertly apply ALS skills and knowledge. Utilizes medical equipment including, but not limited to, defibrillators, cardiac monitors, oxygen, suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care. 2. Assesses and records any treatments provided and reactions to treatments and/or medications. 3. Communicate with patients and/or appropriate persons to provide information and relay care or transport decisions. 4. Take responsibility for unit management as needed. 5. Clean and decontaminate the ambulance after transporting, ensuring compliance with site infection control and filtration protocols. 6. Works collaboratively and in a professional manner with all healthcare partners. 7. Embrace OptimuMedicine values. 8. Embody the OptimuMedicine culture. 9. Drives ambulance to predetermined location, navigating restricted haul roads and coordinating with mine dispatch 10. Integrates with mine leadership to conduct comprehensive inspections of appropriate medical equipment, safety gear, and designated staging areas. 11. Actively participates in and periodically leads mine safety trainings and hazard briefings. 12. Completes daily Pre-Task Assessments and adheres to all overarching site-specific safety protocols. 13. Assists in coordinating advanced transport logistics, including ground transport to level trauma centers and Helicopter EMS (HEMS) integration.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS

1. Works on a variety of special projects as assigned. 2. Performs related duties and responsibilities as required. 3. Conducts routine industrial hygiene monitoring, including potable water supply checks and environmental stress screening.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1. 21 years old at the time of offer letter 2. High School diploma or general education degree (GED) 3. Possess the minimum requirements to obtain SNHD licensing. 4. AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS Provider Certifications. 5. Completes ITLS or PHTLS course within six (6) months of hire date. 6. Completes NRP course within six (6) months of hire date. 7. Valid Nevada driver's license. 8. Minimum of 1 year driving experience. 9. No DUI convictions in the past five (5) years. 10. Pass medical evaluation, drug screening, and background check. 11. Successful completion of MSHA Part 48 Surface operations training, hazard communication training, and site-specific inductions. 14. Strict adherence to zero-tolerance drug, alcohol, and impairment policies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Current state Paramedic certification. 2.

NREMT 3. EVOC

certification. 4. Previous experience in heavy industrial, mining, or remote medical standby operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Excellent communication and customer service skills. 2. Ability to transport and care for patients for long distances. 3. Ability to work effectively with other crew members and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care. 4. Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports. 5. Strong organizational skills and attentiveness to detail. 6. Ability to always maintain a professional manner and appearance. 7. Ability to conduct a thorough examination of the patient for signs and symptoms of illness or injury and assist other medical personnel to accomplish this as necessary. 8. Ability to provide prompt medical care to the patient for the stabilization of their condition prior to transport. 9. Ability to clean and restock the unit to place the unit back in service. 10. Ability to precept students or new employees. 11. Competency in environmental hazard mitigation, including noise, airborne particulates, and thermal stress limits.

Pay:

$30.00 - $38.00 per hour
