POSITION SUMMARY
 The Emergency Department Technician, through communication, requisitioning and management of supplies and equipment, coordinates the activities of the nursing staff, the patient, the physician and other hospital departments and visitors. He/she performs general receptionist, clerical and support duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/General Education Degree(GED) Coursework in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training within 30 days of employment. BLSP (CPR) from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment. Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately. Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals. Basic computer and keyboarding skills with a working knowledge of some common computer programs.
PREFERRED
College Level Coursework in Basic Rhythm Interpretation Course. 1 year of general clerical experience in an acute care setting. 1 year of 
LPN/CNA/EMT II/EMT
III or Lab Assistant experience. EMT certification from an approved certifying agency. OR State of Alaska Certified Nursing Assistant Licensure OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from an approved certifying agency. OR State of Alaska Paramedic Licensure Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
