Job Description

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine, Ingalls Memorial Hospital as an Emergency Room (ED) Technician at our Harvey, Illinois location. The Emergency Room Technician assists and augments the registered nursing staff in providing high quality patient care in the Emergency Room. The ERT must demonstrate the expertise and competency of all paramedic skills in accordance with Illinois State law. You treat change and new situations as opportunities for learning or growth; identifies the benefits and risks of change. You quickly modify behavior to deal effectively with changes; remains effective during times of ambiguity and uncertainty. Required Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent Maintain AHA Basic Life Support Certification Maintain certifications/licensures, as applicable. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform a variety of patient assistance without direct supervision. Ability to interact effectively with patient, clinical staff, and the general public. Ability to adjust work schedules and activities based on needs of department.
Required Skills:
Emergency Medical Technician (Basic EMT-B); Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), and/or student nurse that is currently enrolled in an RN program and has started clinical rotations. CPI certification required upon hire or 60 days of hire
