AdventHealth Minneola Primary Job Responsibilities:
Monitors levels of all endoscopy instruments and supplies. Follows written procedures for high-level disinfection and chemical and biological monitoring. Performs treatments and procedures within the defined scope of practice. Provides supportive care to patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and physician. Ensures the endoscopy suite is adequately prepared for procedures. Prepares the room in a timely manner with all anticipated supplies and equipment for each endoscopy procedure. Demonstrates competence in the care and accurate handling of specimens. Checks all equipment and instruments needed prior to each procedure to ensure proper functioning. Assists in positioning, prepping, and draping patients for endoscopy procedures. Maintains an orderly environment and anticipates the needs of the physician during procedures. Demonstrates proficiency in the setup of multi-specialty endoscopy procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic computer and keyboarding skills. [Required] Ability and willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment. [Required] Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule. [Required] Ability and willingness to adapt to change. [Required] Demonstrated ability to work under stressful conditions. [Required] Ability to work irregular hours including call hours. [Required] Knowledgeable about professional and practice issues related to the field of Gastroenterology. [Required]
Education:
High School Grad or Equiv [Required] Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]
Work Experience:
1+ work related experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
Basic Life Support
•CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]
